I'm using the hemp pillow while sleeping on my back. I had to remove lots of hulls to get the right thickness, but now it's perfect. I make a depression for the back of my head, leaving a raised part to support my neck, and the hulls stay firmly in place for the entire night. It supports my head and neck perfectly. Best pillow ever. I will say, it's VERY firm. If I was using it for side sleeping, it's a bit hard for my ear (and I'd keep most of the hulls in it). I'd need a little padding. I'm making myself a quilted pillow cover to try out, and then maybe I'll get another hemp pillow for side sleeping. I just love how the hulls lock into place and maintain their support throughout the night. Other types of hulls I've tried tend to squish out of place as I move around during sleep. Overall, I'm totally in love with this pillow!
